from the wonderful March kit.  I have loved this kit so much.  It has such fun bits and pieces in it, along with the great colors.  Here's a layout I created.

This layout makes me happy, just showcasing my sweet babies.  I had some of the great hexagon shapes left over from my February kit, so I used the large ones as a mask with the Mister Huey, and traced the smaller ones to put inside.

Hi everyone!  I hope you are having a great day!  I know I am.  I am totally in love with this month's kit from The Sampler.  When I first got my kit I was so happy to see it contained two sheets of the Creative Imaginations polka dot felt.  I knew I wanted to make lots of yummy flowers.

 

First, here is my project...

Sorry about the color/lighting...but it has been raining for a while and I just can't seem to get good photos.

 

Here is how I made the fun flower.

You will need, a fabric glue, a chipboard circle, your felt, a flower center (I used the flair that came in the kit), and four circles of the same size.  I used a die to cut my circles, but I am sure you could use scissors as well.

You can see here I have cut four circles of the same size and folded each in half.  Don't worry if they don't stay folded...they will.

 For the first circle, fold in half and place glue only on one quarter.

 

  Glue to your chipboard circle with the fold in the middle.

 Place glue on the second half circle and place perpendicular to the first, again with the fold in the middle.

Then following the same technique place the third circle

The fourth circle is a little tricky.  You will need to place half of it on top of one quarter of the third circle and the other half under the first circle. (this is a little like how you may fold and seal a box if you don't have tape.)

Finally add your center.

cropping in circles...

The Sampler March Card Challenge!

hi everyone!  we've been having some trouble on the back end of things here, Typepad has been acting wonky for some of us and not for others so i'm taking the liberty to share the card challenge and my creation for it.  this month, we are basing the challenge on a sketch from PageMaps, Dec. 2011:

i love all the fun elements from this month's kit and was really excited to play with them!  it really has a lot of potential ;)  if you haven't picked yours up yet, get over to Scrapbooking Supplies R Us and grab one before they're gone!  you don't want to miss out on this kit!!!

Sketch Challenge layout

I was thrilled to get my March kit, and even happier to see what was in it!  This kit has some great, GREAT stuff in it, definitely some of my favorite scrappy items to use!  I got right to work on my sketch layout for this month.  This sketch post will be up shortly, we were having some typepad issues earlier. For now, here is the sketch:

And here is my layout I created using the amazing March kit!!

This kit contains some of my very favorite scrappy items-felt, mist, and flair.  WOOHOO!!  You can get your kit right now, just head over to Scrapping Supplies R Usth and pick it up.  You will love all the great items in it.  I used the Mister Huey to create a border along the top, and cut a tag, heart and a simple strip from the felt.  Here's a closeup:

Tuesday....

Hi everyone, Nancy here today to share with you a project I made with the March Kit from The Sampler.   Every month when I receive my kit I get so excited, and this month is no exception.  The colors and patterns are fabulous!  I couldn't wait to jump right in and play.

This month's kit includes a bottle of Mr. Huey's White Mist which is a new favorite of mine.  I love sprinkling drops onto my cardstock to add texture; and the three different alphabets open up a huge range of title and journaling possibilities.   Be sure to grab your kit today!  I am sure they are going to go fast.

organization idea*

hi everyone!  Shaunna here :)

i'm a little late posting (since i usually post on Thursdays!) because i had the pleasure of having my cousin Meghan from Ohio staying with me for the week.  i unintentionally took a week off from everything - i thought that i'd still have a little time to scrap and work on some other things while we chatted, but we ended up on the go most of the week!  it was crazy!  we got tattoos and saw a friend's band play, drank a green beer last night, and spent lots of good girl time - i needed that but i'm disappointed about all the things i should have done and i didn't all week!  oh well, it was worth it ;)

today i want to share something with you from my blog that i posted some time ago, but it's really useful and worth reposting here.  i buy TONS of the $1 clear stamps at Michael's and they were always taking up tons of room in a drawer so i decided to do something else with them.  i remembered seeing baseball card protector pages as a way to organize small items like stamps, stickers, etc., somewhere on the Internet many years ago, and i just so happened to have baseball card protectors laying around from my ATC adventures.  i had to take the stamp sheets out of the packages, and left them on their original backing paper, and trimmed to fit inside the sleeves:

this is really useful and helps me to keep these stamp sets organized and be able to flip through them quickly to find what i want!  i put them inside a large, plain black binder and store it on a shelf with other binders and books... and freed up an entire drawer in the process!  i bought some baskets at the Dollar Tree to house my ink pads and larger sets of clear stamps, and rubber stamps have a thin, flat drawer of their own where they are laid out in a single layer so i can pull it open and look them over quickly.  

if you tend to hoarde these types of stamps too, then give this idea a shot - i love it!  it made my scrap area a lot more organized just by doing those simple things to organize my stamps, and i probably spent no more than $4-5 doing it!  

also, if you haven't already heard, The Sampler's March kit is available NOW!  stop by Scrapbooking Supplies R Us to pick yours up ASAP because it's super cute and i don't expect it to last long!  i can't wait to share the projects i've been working on with everyone ;)

Spring Cleaning Tips...

I love Fridays!

So, I have some bad news....,my scrapbook room is still a disaster. I had it in progress, then the new March kit arrived and BAM! ink, punches, all of it just piled up on my workspace. So....next Friday will have to be reveal day on my scrap area...I'm way too embarrassed to post it's current state on the web.

But I do have some tips for you today to help you with your scrap space:

*If you own the distress inks use a label maker and label the sides of them for easy access. I have seen others add the ink to the label so they can see the colors, but my tape is slick and so it won't work .

*As you work, take note of what you are using most: scissors? punches? buttons? bling? stamps? and then ask yourself if those items are within arm's reach. If not, it might save you time if you move them closer to you.

*Stash busting basket: I have a stash busting basket. If I notice I am not using up some product that I HAD to have, I put it in my basket. Then when it's time to scrap I make sure I try to incorporate it. I move items through the basket as quickly as possible. If it stays too long it's time to donate it, make a note of it and don't buy it in the future.

I hope these tips have helped you a bit.
