Hi everyone, Nancy here today with a fun project I made using the April kit from The Sampler.
I just love the gorgeous creams, teals and blues in this kit. Not to mention the beautiful textures when you add burlap, canvas, lace, and resins. I think the April kit from The Sampler has to be my favorite yet!
I used a mask with a bit of red mist on the canvas that was included in the Sampler kit to bring some red to my layout...since the girls were playing with the red blanket. This kit has such great neutrals it can go with everything! (wait till you see what else I made. **big grin**)
Look at that lace...and those gorgeous resins....
hi everybody!
shaunna here, and before i start rambling i just want to say that the April kit is AWESOME! i am really having a hard time figuring out what i want to do with it - so much to work with! stop by the Scrapbooking Supplies R Us store TODAY to make sure that you get one before they're all sold out!
i kind of missed the boat on the scrap room share back in March - the organizing tips i shared barely showed you the surface of my personal craft store. now i think it's finally ready for its big internet debut - after a lot of hard work and a new addition!
taa daaaaa!
okay, it's really nothing special. and my walls need paint. and there needs to be more decoration. i'm working on all of that. i would love to have one of those huge customized storage systems with all the slots and drawers... but that doesn't really fit into the budget right now, so i make do. i still love it; it's not uber-clean but not such a mess that i don't want to sit in it. i'm a neat hoarder - i have a lot of stuff but everything has a place, and it's usually pretty tidy and in order.
another view. this area is part of our master bedroom - it's so huge that there is room for all of this PLUS a queen-sized bed, desk with computer, dresser, and a nightstand. the bedroom and closet were the big selling points for me in this house! seriously, the closet is so big it could be a bedroom!
this situation is a completely upcycled piece of garbage. literally. a friend of mine was throwing away the wooden part - it's one of those things you would buy for your kids' room to put bins with toys on - but it was all broken up and in the garbage. after a 15 minute ordeal of trying to figure out how to shove it into my car, i hauled it home, spray painted it black, and wrapped colored duct tape around the remaining bars (even the broken ones!)... and so it serves its purpose. i like it A LOT better than the 70's wall shelves i used to have that collapsed on me once while i was sitting at my craft table...
most of the boxes and baskets came from the Dollar Tree - which was awesome because i spent about $40 getting some pretty cute stuff to organize with. i used some old stickers on these ones, and i really need to do that with the rest of them. also the white shelves are like $16 at Wal-Mart... they are really handy and it sort of gives my stuff a little bit of a coordinated look ;)
THIS is the part that kept me from posting this whole time - back in March i had started on this project and it went to the side because i didn't know how to stick the letters onto the wall the way i wanted them. i wanted them to be 3D, but like they had foam squares behind them... why not just use big foam squares? well A) foam sheets are actually fairly expensive when you have to buy them; B) the only way i could come up with to put it on the wall was hot gluing it, which my better judgment led me against. the magic here is all in old Priority Mail boxes - every single bit of it. i cut out the clouds & letters on plain paper with my Silhouette, traced them onto the cardboard and painted them. the backing is the real magic, though! i cut the box scraps into 1" x 3.25" pieces and scored them at 1", 1 1/2", 2 1/2" and 3" and then folded them up to make little hollow "boxes" that i hot glued together and then to the backs of the shapes. to put them on the wall i used flat tacks, inside the hollow of the box and through the cardboard into the wall. i had actually broken out in a sweat by the time it was all said and done, but it looks so cool!
allright... it's about time i quit yammering and share!
a quick card i made with the April kit :)
a bookmark card made with the March kit, inspired by:
i have a few more laid out on my work table, and will share when i'm finished :D
that's all for me for today! we'll have this month's card and sketch challenges up soon, as well as winners for last month's challenges. please stop back and see us each day for more creative ideas from our team!

This layout was a bit "out of the box" for me. When I first saw the Core'dinations Cardstock that was in the kit, I thought there was no way I'd use this particular color. After looking through my pics, I came accross these of my sweet son doing his patrol job, and I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I took this piece of paper that I had in my stash:
and I used it to create a pattern on the Core'dinations Cardstock. I simply put the cardstock over it and sanded away, and this is what I got:
I LOVE it! I added some of the Mister Huey from the March kit, and the rest of the layout just came together.
I used one of the frame from the journaling blocks to frame out the pictures. I also took one of the journaling blocks and cut it:
This way I can use the other half on another project. Anything we can do to make our supplies go farther. :)
Thanks so much for visiting!
Hi everyone, Nancy here to wish you a happy Tuesday and share with you a project I made with the March Sampler kit. I have begun working with the April kit, which is just gorgeous, but don't have anything quite ready to share yet.
I splattered a bit of the Mr. Hueys on my background and once again used my felt to create some flowers. I love the texture the felt brings to my page.
Don't forget, there is still time to enter the Card and Sketch challenges right here on the blog.
Hugs.

With spring break on the horizon, I'm quite the thankful girl tonight. Nine days to relax, spend time with family and get caught up on life in general. In addition, lots of time to create. To say I'm excited is an understatement.
I have a stack of the March kit to use up, but I couldn't contain my excitement to break open my April kit and give you a taste of the color palette goodness. I needed a thank you card so this was the perfect opportunity to use the kit.
I love the April color palette, and all the amazing embellishments that are packed inside.
Here is the card I created:
Taking photos indoors is not ideal, so I will replace these when the sun comes up :)
I hope you are as excited about the April kit as I am!
Wishing you a wonderful Easter weekend filled with precious moments and memories captured on film.

I created this next layout about the bond between my daughter and her baby brother. It's amazing to see the two of them together. When they see each other, their faces just light up. I was worried that the gap in age would prevent them from being close, but I couldn't have been more wrong. I captured this shot of my daughter loving up on Davis. I knew it was perfect for the colors in the fabulous March kit. Here's what I created:
I added the felt pieces under the picture and wanted to add another piece to complete the visual triangle, so the heart on the journaling envelope was the perfect touch.
Don't forget to check out the March card and sketch challenge. You can win some great goodies! Have a great, great Wednesday!
Hi everyone, Nancy here today to share another project I made with the March kit from the Sampler. I used lots of different paper scraps to create the chevron border.
And I loved turning my felt into more flowers. Accents of the Doodlebug jewels really finished my page.
The April kit is now available in the store but be sure and grab the March kit while it is still available. There is still time to participate in the March sketch and card challenges so pop back and see the great inspiration and your chance to win.
Hugs.

So I've been promising some peeks at my scrap space for weeks, and I told myself that I'd show it this week regardless of what it looked like, well, it looks like I have been creating up a storn and not cleaning up one bit, and that is very true! Here are some peeks:
Here is my shelving unit I inherited from my brother, he once used it to display model cars he built:
Here are my mini drawers for buttons and such:
Here are my drawers for scissors and embellishments:
and a full view of my countertop will have to wait, that I can't show right now, it's piled high and just too embarrassing to reveal....so much to organize, so little time!
One more week of school and then my junior highers are on spring break...I'll overhaul it all then :)
Happy Friday!

hi everyone!
today i want to share a REALLY cute project with you that i have been working on over the last few days. about a week ago, or so, Lori Whitlock released 3-D shadow boxes and other 3-D goodies for Silhouette, as well as in other digital diecut formats. i jumped all over this, bought both sets of shadow boxes IMMEDIATELY, and decided to dust off my Silhouette and give it a shot! it was really easy, actually, and Lori has some great videos on YouTube as well to show how to put it together. i loved making this and i love even more that i was able to use The Sampler's March kit on it - well, 95% The Sampler and 5% personal stash stuff i couldn't resist using on this project!!! enjoy :)
you can find out more information about this die cut on Lori's website, along with all her other digi goodies - she's amazing!
oh, also! this is in the flickr gallery but i had not posted it here to share yet: the layout i created for this month's Sketch Challenge :)
thanks for stopping by to visit us today - we have lots to come in the future so make sure you come by every day to see what we have going on ;)
also make sure to get over to Scrapbooking Supplies R Us and snatch up this month's kit! do it! you know you want to :D
till next time... peace, love and stickers -
